About Us

The Navy League of the United States was founded in 1902 with the encouragement of President Theodore Roosevelt.  The Navy League has provided a powerful voice for a stronger sea service to Congress and to the American people.  With over 40,000 members in more than, over 240 councils around the world, the Navy League has grown into the foremost citizens’ organization to serve, support and stand with all the sea services – the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Coast Guard and U.S.-flag Merchant Marine.

What We Do

* To enhance the morale of active-duty personnel and their families.

* Inform Congress and the American public on the importance of strong sea services.

* Support youth through programs such as the Naval Sea Cadet Corps, Junior ROTC and Young Marines that expose young people to the values of our sea services.

Become a Supporter

Every day, our members around the world carry our message to the public and support the men and women who serve. The Navy League depends on individuals like you to carry our education and support mission forward.  Local councils adopt ships and shore commands, reward and honor enlisted personnel, host dinners and celebrations for military personnel, and support family members left behind when spouses and parents are deployed.
